Theresa Koenig is an executive chef with 20 years of experience in the food industry. Her cooking is influenced by the many places she has lived and worked throughout the globe, including Australia, Hawaii, the Southwestern United States and East and West coasts.
She has served in every role, from humble potato peeler and lunch cook, to executive private chef and director of catering. Theresa has designed and executed menus for a broad range of events that include weddings, private dinners, fundraisers and corporate retreats. Her work has been featured in Edible Ojai & Ventura County. Additionally, Theresa served as executive chef for weddings highlighted in publications like Martha Stewart Weddings, California Wedding Day,The Wedding Wire, Wedding Style Magazine, and The Knot.
Theresa has worked extensively with World Central Kitchen as kitchen lead during the Thomas Fires in 2017 and Kilauea eruption on the Big Island in 2018.
Growing up in a full house as the youngest of five children, Theresa and her siblings were fortunate to have a delicious meal on the table. Her mother has had a profound influence on her culinary journey, as have the many talented and generous women and men she has met along the way.
Theresa draws her passion for cooking from perusing farmers markets, spending time with her family (both fur and human) and being outside as much as possible. Theresa’s food philosophy says as much about her approach to cooking as it does about her approach to life: have fun, be adventurous and don’t forget to taste!
Theresa serves the Southern California and Big Island of Hawaii regions.
